Old Government Building

Last weekend Lawrence asked me to join him in the middle of Pretoria, Church Square, to photograph the Old ‘Raadsaal’ (Government Building) which they still use today.

My history is very poor, but I think President Paul Kruger and his men held meetings in this building. And what amazed me the most, is that it looks absolutely perfect inside. Well kept and looked after.

I spent most of our time inside taking photos of the details in the architecture and decor. So old. But so stylish..

The next best thing to looking at all the beautiful architecture, and be able to still ‘capture’ a piece of history, was knowing that you are walking where important men long before you walked, you’re in a place where important decisions were made. Walking in our forefather’s footsteps (so to speak) Kind of eerie feeling.

If was amazing walking in this old building. Knowing that History was made here.
Can just imaging of all the hidden places we didn’t get to see… Imagination running wild…

Stunning stuff Eugene. I really like the post processing and that you’ve added a ‘story’. Love that final pic… Looks like we need to do stuff like this more often.
Thank you, and thanks for taking us along…
Must do it more often, yes.. Especially buildings and architecture, I really enjoyed that!!!
