Category: Long Exposure

Finally I managed to “build” the whole chess set and put it on display!

A lamp was standing on the left, used a reflector to fill some of the shadows from the right, and to light the dark subjects in the back. I used a small aperture and a long exposure to get almost everything in focus!

Went visiting friends today, and my friend showed us how to play with fire!!!

I also had a try and I love it! Think I found a new hobby!!!

Wow 30 days of my Project365, 335 Days to go. Didn’t think I would make 5 days!!

Camera on tripod, took some long exposures of the fire!

Decided to do something different today…So I ‘painted with light’. I haven’t done that in a long time, and I quite enjoyed it!!

Put camera on a tripod, long exposure and used a flashlight to light the Buddha statue…

What I like most is the reflection on the glass table of the Buddha!!

Like the Macro shots that I fell in love with recently, I’ll probably do quite a few ‘Paint with Light’ photos in the near future!!!

Decided tonight to have some fun with water and a slow shutter speed.

I put a glass in the sink and filled it with water, and with the slow shutter speed created some nice effects.

Day 15 almost over and took my daily photo just in time!!!

This is Priscilla, my companion at my pc.

At first I just put her on the desk, aimed the camera and took a shot, it ended in being sort of a portrait shoot.

I started with f5.6, but being a macro shot, everything was out of focus except her eyes, so I played around with the exposure, and ended up with 4.0seconds at f29: The result, everything is sharp and in focus.

The light source came from my desk lamp on the left, and I used a piece of white paper on the right to reflect some light to add some fill light and brighten up the left side a little bit.

Of course I also used a tripod and a cable release to prevent camera shake. I can’t think of anyone who can hold a camera still for 4 seconds!!!

We had some lovely rain today, after what I think was a heat wave that hit us!

Used camera on a tripod with a slow shutter speed  to get a bit of motion going.
